Hobbies: Darkette loves making noise and being just an annoying prick in general. You definitely won't see her doing something calmly.
Likes: the dark, being dominant, attention, smacking people's faces with a hammer, stealing candy.

Weaknesses: Since she was created by the Shadow Queen, the Crystal Stars (and light in general) can easily stun her and you'll take her out in no time at all once she's covering her eyes and complaining. She also gets angry really easily, and this obstructs her from the real problem at hand.
Personality: Darkette is pretty much the opposite of Toadette. While Toady tries to help everyone be happy, Darky only cares about herself and her own needs and wants, no matter the cost of anyone else. Also, while Toady is careful with her words, Darky doesn't care if she slips up or not; she just blurts out whatever she can, whether it makes sense or not. The only similarity these two share is their childish and naive personality trait. Both of them know nothing and don't care to learn of it until later. When Darky wants something, she does not get pushy, she gets extremely pushy. One can maybe consider Darky an extreme version of the bad traits Toadette has. To sum it up: quick to talk, doesn't think before she leaps, and very strong with emotions.
History: Well, let's start in the Palace of Shadow where the Shadow Queen resided, locked away. When she was summoned (not the time before Mario fought her, the time when the bustling big city got destroyed and the 'Four Heroes' had to seal her away) she began creating little clones of some minor heroes that could've been a threat to the plan.
And the idea of Darkette was formed.
The Shadow Queen took the shape of Toadette that she could remember and morphed it with her own color and dark power. Darky's eyes were slightly different (more mischievous, if you will) and Darky's color scheme was purple, unlike the pink that Toadette had.
Darkette was ordered to abuse Toadette any way she could. Hurt her, annoy her, bully her, kill her, whatever. As long as Toadette suffered, Darky's mission was passed with flying colors.
