As well as one that I thought sounded most like his personality- I have no idea WHY. www.youtube.com/watch?v=keeM4wFRJWk It just sounds like....something that would play back in the day when he had his wife and was happy and everything was good. XD
Image Colors: Brown, white, blue.
Symbol: Major Burrows mug and helmet, silouhetted against a grey flag.
Weapons: His Claws
Strengths: Naturally being a mole, he’s an avid digger and can do so much faster than his smaller soldiers. Creating tunnels are relative ease to him, as he’s done it all his life. As a result of so much digging through rock and soil, his arms are easily the strongest physical trait, as they’re burly and strengthened through so many years of labor. His upper body is much more powerful than the rest of him.
Weaknesses: Using his arms throughout the years and generally getting older has made him a bit tuckered out. He’s not the young mole he used to be, but he’s still got it. His legs are not the longest or fastest; he’d prefer to burrow to get away from an enemy as he knows he’d be easily caught if rendered with his legs alone.
Personality: Major Burrows is quite the wily ol’ geezer. He absolutely loves playing pranks on people- not necessarily to be mean, but for the thrill of causing someone to wig out. He looks menacing, mostly due to his size and that he never takes his spiny shell helmet off, but he’s really a softy. He’s been through a lot in his days of war- so seeing the occasional glimmer of hope or kindness within people leaves him relatively at peace. He’d never admit that though. Have to retain the military exterior, of course! The flipside of his collected and bright personality however is his temper. He can be quick to flare up- especially when someone threatens his territory or someone he cares about. He can really be a hot-head then, so much so, that his eyes are even said to change color.
History: Major grew up in Moleville- he became an apprentice to his father who was older and worked in the coal mines there. While he didn’t mind working in the mines, his real passion was evoked whenever his father mused about his earlier years, where he attended military school as a cadet before going on to fighting in various battles. Little Major grew up wanting to be just like his father, who he revered as a war hero and vowed that as soon as he was old enough, he’d follow suit to become a great soldier one day.
Early in his twenties, he graduated and climbed the ranks through the army until the general deemed him worthy of becoming his right man-a Major. When the general passed away, he left a solitary piece of literature behind to serve as his will- as he had no possessions to give; he gave Major the opportunity to become the new General. At a loss for words that his teacher, friend, and commanding officer, had passed and given him his army, he merely accepted it as a sign of respect, but insisted his title would forever remain ‘Major’ as it would seem wrong for him to assume the general’s place.
Eventually as Major Burrows made his way through several different areas of land, choosing to settle momentarily in one territory known as Gusty Gardens, where he met his wife, Martha. Although he was in love, he still has obligations to the army, and often had to leave to other lands as was his duty. She always waited though, never grew impatient with him and proved to be a fitting match. After every battle, he’d return to her and the two would enjoy each other’s company before he was called away again.
Martha died at a young age- 42 from a weak heart. It left Major devastated, so much so he had to take a leave of absence from his other greatest love, the military. He stayed in Gusty Gardens for a long time, with the occasional bothering from the neighboring Star Rabbits, whom he grew angry over as he was quietly trying to grieve without disturbance. One day, a plumber in overalls had stopped by in the middle of one of his temper tantrums. He’d finally grown sick and tired of their annoyances outside of his house when all he wanted to do was be left alone, so something in him had snapped, and ironically it was the first feeling he got back after the passing of his wife. The plumber, who later he found out to be the infamous Mario, had intervened, leaving Major with a few bruises. Finally sulking back to his house, he had a realization that he needed to leave this familiar place, his home, as it held too many painful memories for him. He needed to get far away, fast. He finally hopped aboard a ship and took off- not very picky about the place so long as it was away from his home.
After traveling to several places, including Rogueport and Glitzville, he’d settled around the Mushroom Kingdom. He longs for the day he can return to his army and pick up where he left off, but wonders when the right time will be, and is held back by the pain he feels, thinking of her still waiting for him at Gusty Garden, although he knows that if he ever went back, she would not be there to greet him this time.
(I had NOTHING to go on when I checked the wiki site so I made everything up. XD I hope it all sounds okay. )
