After a full minute of searching in vain, Julie returned to her seat, and snapped the back off of it. Once she parked her keister she just looked away from A.J.

It continued like that for quite some time, casual glances her way and then silence. A.J. nervously tapped his fingers against the table, glaring off in a bored manner. He had nothing to say! Finally he cleared his throat loudly. "Sooooo."

Julie looked over at A.J. without even turning her head. She felt that she might as well talk... anything beats waiting for service around here. "So, what?" She answered with complete absence of enthusiasm.

"For fun?" Julie paused "Well, I haven't got much to do. I just maintain my beauty most of the time... and when the time comes I have to get food for everyone else. That's kinda fun." She started fidgeting with her hair.

At that, A.J. looked over at her and actually LOOKED at her as opposed to a quick glance. She was kind of cute now that he noticed but really kinda tough looking. Scary actually. " That's it? "

"Yeah. It's not like I can do much... seeing as I live in a cave an all." Julie remarked. She finally tried taking a good look at her date... and quickly looked away. What was with that stupid cap of his? Could he look any more obnoxious?
