"Pinksie-foo? And now I've heard it all. Hm..I dunno. Maybe..they're watching us. Making sure we're on the right path..." Goomy thought he sounded silly,so he started to quiet down. The dirt trail seemed to get longer and longer. It was neverending.

"Oh come now, that's silly. The thought of stars watching US. I'm sure there are many better things to watch, don't you think?" He contradicted himself. "But if there ARE any stars watching us by chance-do you think perhaps, they'd give Steve the ability to remember what he's doing for more than a few moments? Do you think they could do that?"

Goomy did think it was a silly idea. But,it would be nice if Steve had the ability to remember things. "Hmm,I wonder if they eowuld. It'd be pretty nice of them." Goomy watched the stars,and one glinted brighter than any others. Goomy wondered what it was.

Steve enjoyed the crisp night air streaming in from his mask's holes. "What would be nice of who?" He asked aloud, bouncing Goomy on top of his head as he walked. He wasn't sure where exactly he was going now.

Goomy gave the sky a blank,unamused stare. "The stars! It would be nice of THE STARS to give you a good memory." Goomy looked up. There didn't seem much of a helpful look in the sky. Maybe they were going to be mean today. Goomy hoped not.

"Stars? Can they do that, you think? It'd be awfully nice of me to remember. Remember what exactly?" He drawled on, shuffling down the dirt road, coming to the top of a small hill. He stood at the top, his hood blowing in the breeze.

Steve shuffled to the house too, and lifted Goomy abruptly so he could see in. "Is the Pinkness seeing anything inside? A person? A thing? Both? Maybe nothing at all?"

Goomy peered into the little hut. There was a Yoshi egg on a table,a dark blue cloak,and a wall. "Well,there's some thing in there,but there is also a wall. There may be something behind it! We gotta go and see. I HAVE to know what's in there." Goomy jumpe4d out of Steve's grip,and shuffled to the other end of the house,where another window was. "Gimme a boost! Another window!" Goomy exclaimed,waiting Steve's lift-off

Steve let out a puff of air through his mask hole and shuffled over to the goomba, picking him up with his nubs. "At this rate, the black bandit will slaughter shyguys out the wazoo if I don't catch him! But AHA... what if he lived here? Wouldn't that just be our lucky day?"

"Yeah,it sure would!" Goomy wanted to say,but he was more concentrated on seeing what was inside this house. "Steve,Steve,STEVE! I think you're right! I think!" Goomy peered into the little house,to see a somewhat tall for a Mushroom Kindgomer but shorter than Mario. He wore a long black cloak robe,and a brown belt. Goomy wasn't too good on descriptions,but he was sure,that the way Steve had said it,that THIS was the black bandit. 'Steve,you gotta look in there!" Goomy hopped offof Steve's head,and motioned for him to peer through the small window.

Steve casually leaned against the hut, sidling himself upward to glance through the window. "Well it IS true, he looks bandit-ish....and he IS wearing black. But could it truly be....THE Black Bandit?" He stood on his tip-toes for a moment later to see before planting both feet on the ground again. "Well we'll SIMPLY have to ask him!"
